When the Political and the Spiritual Worlds Collide, or...
Sin in haste, repent at leisure... for eternity.
There are occasions when the political and spiritual worlds collide... the former is temporal, the latter, eternal, which is why politicians should be careful about the positions taken in the earthbound realm lest they follow them into the afterlife. Some chose unwisely... to their everlasting lamentation.
The Vatican just issued an encyclical called the "Dignitas Infinita," Latin for Infinite Dignity. Amongst the topics addressed were gender theory, transgender surgeries, and abortion, all of which the Catholic Church categorically opposes.
Non-Catholics are free to disagree... or even condemn the Vatican's position; Christians... and followers of every other religion, have the same rights of refusal. Non-believers will continue to do whatever they want, but... Catholics, especially those who proclaim to be devout, are expected to obey the Church's prescribed precepts.
Amongst those who claim to be devout Catholics are Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.
A few years ago, Nancy Pelosi responded to Donald Trump referring to members of MS-13, a vicious gang notorious for torture and murder, as "animals." She took great offense, indignantly proclaiming, "There's a spark of Divinity in each and every one of us." That was very Christian of her, but... Nancy Pelosi, in direct conflict with the Vatican, is a staunch supporter of abortion, including late stage and partial birth procedures. Apparently, whilst vicious murderers are sparked with Divinity, unborn children aren't.
Joe Biden is also a staunch supporter of abortion on demand... right up to gestational maturity. On Easter Sunday, he issued an official White House Proclamation declaring Christianity's holiest day to be the "National Transgender Day of Visibility." Whilst God loves all of His children exclusive of decrees made by the Catholic Church, the Pope can't be happy with Joe Biden's devotion-free disobedience and disrespect for his authority... or Nancy Pelosi's, either.
Organized religions can be limiting; most create orthodoxically narrow lanes beyond which adherents are not allowed to tread. The Dignitas Infinita is one such example of prescribed restrictions or, more accurately, demands for obedience many find impossible to oblige. That's one reason why, as an ordained minister, I chose non-denominational Humanism... it provides plenty of orthodoxy-free wiggle-room, but...
Bearing false witness, for Humanists and others, is still a mortal sin, a Commandment which, amongst every Judeo-Christian religion, must be obeyed lest everlasting lamentation follow. And that applies to devout Catholics, too, even Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden who, it appears, have unwisely chosen the political world over the spiritual... and very dishonestly, too.
They'd better repent and, considering their advanced age, soon, because neither will fare well in the fiery furnace. Nancy's Botox will boil and, well, Joe Biden will never, ever...
Lick an ice cream cone again.
