"Let's go Brandon!" was a cheer heard 'round the world. Except it wasn't "Brandon," and most assuredly not, "Let's Go!"
A relatively unknown NASCAR Xfinity Series driver named Brandon Brown won his first race last week, but the victory will forever be accompanied by an asterisk because the event was red-flagged due to darkness; the full race wasn't run... he didn't earn the traditional green-white-checker finish.
But Brandon savored his victory no less; he was interviewed at the Start/Finish line where thousands of fans had gathered. A spontaneous chant broke out, but he knew they weren't cheering for him. So did the commentators, but they couldn't report what was actually being shouted. Instead, they went with something phonetically close-enough... "Let's Go Brandon."
Except Brandon Brown had nothing to do with it, his race-shortened yellow flag finish posed no problems for the crowd. Their cheers were, in fact, disgusted jeers, and they were directed not at Brandon Brown but Joe Biden, whose presidency is more comprehensively wrecked than the most balled-up car after "the big one" at Talladega.
But what's the connection between an unknown race car driver and the president, you ask?
Indeed, the commentators did their best to convince the audience that the fans were yelling "Let's Go Brandon," but actually, “F**k Joe Biden!" was the chant; it's a nationwide phenomenon, shouted at all sorts of assemblies from NASCAR to the NFL to college football games and many other venues where large numbers of Americans gather to enjoy their freedoms.
It may have started as a protest or a prank, but it's quickly become the mantra of people sick and tired of an ever-increasing number of crises, debacles, and disasters; it’s being chanted by a vast number of Americans who aren't at all pleased with mandates and other forms of governmental oppression imposed by Joe Biden.
They're far less than pleased about massive illegal alien invasions, too. Also displeasing is sky-high crime, escalating inflation, citizens abandoned in Afghanistan, missile attacks killing civilians and children in Kabul, calling the FBI down on parents at school board meetings, no end to the coronavirus that was supposed to be crushed on day one, and an ever growing number of other problems... all caused by Joe Biden. Those and others are the reason so many people are shouting "Let's Go Brandon!"
The chorus is becoming increasingly deafening because Joe Biden promised a return to normal; he's most assuredly delivered that, except it's normal as in "SNAFU!" But he's only doing what Joe Biden always does; Barack Obama warned us about it: "Never underestimate Joe Biden's ability to f**k things up." And he's been doing just that for the entirety of his half-a-century political career, so why expect anything different now?
Which is what makes the chant... in its unexpurgated form, that is, so appropriate. That's because, to "Let's Go Brandon," considering what Joe Biden's doing to America...
Would just be returning the favor.
